About this book
Richard Vandermarck is a novel credited to Miriam Coles Harris. The contents list includes, among others, chapters headed Varick-Street, Very Good Luck, Kilian and Sophie's Work. A first-person voice says that Richard was away on some business of the firm and that the days were very dull indeed.
A first-person voice recalls a May day when Richard came back and took the speaker to the Park, calling it "a great occasion". A carriage passes, a lady leans out and bows with smiles, and the speaker exclaims, "Why, see--it is your sister!" A speaker addressing Pauline says, "I know you have loved me alone," and pleads, "Forgive--forgive--forgive me."
