Riders of the Stars is a 1916 collection of western verse by Henry Herbert Knibbs (1874-1945), published by Houghton Mifflin. Knibbs wrote cowboy poetry the working West actually adopted: pieces like his trail and night-herd ballads passed into oral circulation, recited at gatherings by men who never knew an author’s name was attached. He also wrote western novels admired by Eugene Manlove Rhodes. The collection is a standard of the classic cowboy-poetry shelf. Free PDF download available on BDeBooks.
