About this book
Roy Blakeley, subtitled His Story, is by Percy Keese Fitzhugh. The book describes itself as the true narrative of his adventures and those of his troop on land and sea and in the mud, particularly in the mud. The contents list, among others, chapters titled Troubles of My Own, Swatting the Spy, The Tight Place and Weetonka, the Terrible Chief. The narrator says that the next morning he and the others started out and by night had over five hundred books. The Raving Patrol, the Elk Patrol and the Silver Fox Patrol are named, and the Silver Fox Patrol is said to have taken care of Bridgeboro.
The narrator raps on a door and finds Westy Martin standing there, wearing scout shoes, almost new. In a conversation, one speaker tells another that he heard something about Uncle Jimmy deserting and thought maybe the other might be a veteran.
