The preface says School and Home Cooking is a text which can be placed in the hands of the pupils and used by them as a guide both in the school and home. The preface adds that the use of the text eliminates note-taking, which in reality is dictation, and thus saves much time.
A lesson headed Review: Meal Cooking gives a menu of Chopped Steak, Boiled or Steamed Potato, Coleslaw and Tea. The text on the care of the sink says that if the sink is of porcelain or enamel, it may be cleaned with soap, but not with scouring soap or powder. The text says kerosene emulsifies grease and makes it easy to rinse away.
