About this book
Stanley's Emin Pasha expedition is credited to A.-J. Wauters. The contents list names chapters on the Conquest of the Soudan, the Equatorial Provinces and the Camp at Yambuya, among others.
The text says that on the 6th of February Stanley left Cairo for Suez, and on the 22nd reached Zanzibar. The text says Tippoo Tib is the wealthy Arab trader whom Livingstone and Cameron found settled at Nyangwé on the Lualaba. The text says a report was circulated among the troops that the object of the strangers was to carry Emin Pasha off by an unknown route, and that in consequence 190 soldiers at Dufilé, instigated by their officers, entered into a compact to seize Emin Pasha at once. The text says it is remarkable how even in the times of his greatest anxiety Emin never failed in his scientific interest.
