Studies in Judaism, First Series is by Solomon Schechter. The contents list names, among others, The Chassidim, Nachmanides, The Dogmas Of Judaism and The Earliest Jewish Community in Europe. The text says that the Hebrew word Chassidim merely means the Pious.
The text says something prevented Abarbanel from accepting the Thirteen Articles of Maimonides, and that to him and to the Cabbalists the Torah consists of at least 613 Articles. The text says that, after the expulsion of the Jews from Spain, we have to look chiefly to Italy for religious speculation. The text quotes a famous Rabbi, who once exclaimed: "If a man would ask thee, 'Where is thy God?' answer him: 'In the great city of Rome.'"
