E. R. Eddison

E. R. Eddison (1882-1945) was an English civil servant and author of heroic fantasy steeped in Old Norse literature. Best known for The Worm Ouroboros and the Zimiamvian novels, he wrote in an ornate, archaic style that Tolkien and C. S. Lewis both admired.
