Tangle Hold is by F. L. Wallace. The teaser line says Jadiver objected to being the greatest influence for good on Venus because what was good for Venus was bad for Jadiver. Jadiver tries to raise his hand but it will not move, and a voice tells him to rest. Someone tells Jadiver that a synthetic skin was fitted to his body and a bandage sprayed over it, and Jadiver says "Glad to hear it."
The autobath rumbled familiarly and a jet of water spouted up from the floor, icy cold, and Jadiver shivered. One thought in the story runs that the circuit might not be entirely electronic and might operate with the same forces that existed inside a single nerve cell. Jadiver looks down at the machine and finds it was not a vehicle but a robot, and it was familiar.
