About this book
The Barbarians is credited to Tom Godwin. Tal-Karanth, Supreme Executive of Tharnar, signs a paper and drops it in the out-going slot of the message dispatch tube. The signing would end one hundred and eighty days of studying the tapes and records on the Terran ship and would set the final hearing of the Terran man and woman for that day.
A character named Bob looks again at a window that has lightened to a pale gray square. Virginia has fallen asleep at last, more tired than she had thought. A speaker addressing Vor says that the Terrans have what we lost, and that we've lost, among other things, our curiosity and our desire to learn.
