About this book
The Complete Manual of Catholic Piety is by William Gahan. The full title says the volume contains a selection of fervent prayers, pious reflections, and solid instructions, adapted to every state of life. The full title adds that a supplement is annexed, containing excellent and approved devotions, with the Epistles and Gospels for all the Sundays and Festivals of the Year.
The contents name a Table of Moveable Feasts, Feasts and Fasts throughout the Year, Plenary Indulgences and Manner of Lay Baptism, among others. One prayer asks that the hands which were nailed to the cross plead in the speaker's behalf and open the gates of heaven. The Five Joyful Mysteries are to be said on all Mondays and Thursdays, the Sundays of Advent, and after Epiphany till Lent, and they include the Annunciation.
