Mara draws attention to a cart that a Martian hufa was pulling, piled high with bales of cloth, rough country cloth, hand dipped. Erickson opens a briefcase and brings out a glass globe paperweight, and says "Yes, we stole the City from the Martians," adding that this is how they got by the lie detector.
