About this book
The Drama of Love and Death is subtitled A Study of Human Evolution and Transfiguration and is by Edward Carpenter. The contents list names chapters, among others, The Art of Dying, The Passage of Death, Is there an After-Death State? and Reincarnation. A piece headed The Delphian Sibyl has the line "The coastline ranges far, the skies unfold".
The text says that the centrosome, when the time comes for the cell-division, itself divides in two. A note to Chapter VIII on trance-phenomena says that it may seem rash or unbalanced to dwell, in the preceding chapters, on trance and mediumistic phenomena as much as its writer has done. A numbered list says that the process by which a fertilized germ-cell divides and redivides and so builds up a body is quite similar to that by which a protozoön divides and redivides to form a numerous colony.
