About this book
Beyond the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve face a world of hunger, darkness and unfamiliar dangers. This apocryphal religious narrative follows their life in the Cave of Treasures, their grief over what they have lost and their repeated appeals to God. Its short chapters combine encounters with Satan, promises of deliverance and accounts of the first experiences of life outside the garden. The emphasis falls on repentance, divine mercy and the difficulty of understanding suffering.
The story gives concrete shape to its spiritual conflicts. A fire threatens the couple's shelter, while a later attack turns into an unexpected refuge when God changes a falling stone into a protective dome. Readers interested in biblical traditions beyond the familiar account of Eden will find an extended narrative of fear, prayer and renewed hope, told through numbered verses and frequent dialogue.
