About this book
The Keeper is by H. Beam Piper. A summary line says evil men had stolen his treasure, and Raud set out with his deer rifle and his great dog Brave to catch the thieves before they could reach the Starfolk. The summary line adds that the men's negatron pistols meant little. A father's teaching is given in the words be proud, for you are the Keeper's son, and when I am gone, you will be the Keeper after me.
Keeper's House is pictured with low windowless walls and a sharp-ridged roof. Raud stops in a hollow among the pines to build his tiny fire and eat and feed the dog. Raud says his business is not with Yorn Nazvik but with the two Starfolk who are passengers with him, Dranigo and Salvadro.
