About this book
The Law of Psychic Phenomena is presented as a systematic study of hypnotism, spiritism and mental therapeutics, with those subjects named on its title page. The discussion under the broad heading of mental therapeutics groups together practices ranging from invocations by Egyptian priests to modern systems called mind cure, faith cure, animal magnetism and suggestive therapeutics. The account states that conflicting theories are as numerous as the systems, while private opinions vary with the individuals accepting the facts.
A proposition assigns the subjective mind physical power to make itself heard and felt and to move objects, but the argument assumes its truth provisionally.
