The Legislative Manual, of the State of Colorado

The Legislative Manual of the State of Colorado is by Thomas B. Corbett. The title page says the manual comprises the history of Colorado, annals of the legislature, a manual of customs, precedents and forms, rules of parliamentary practice, and the constitutions of the United States and the State of Colorado. The title page marks the book as the first edition, Denver, Colorado, with an entry according to act of Congress in the year 1877. The preface says the first edition of the Colorado Legislative Manual is herewith presented, and that while designed for the use of the General Assembly it cannot fail to interest all classes.

The text says that if on motion and question it be decided that the bill shall be committed, it may be moved to be referred to Committee of the Whole House, or to a special committee. A biographical sketch says that in October 1876 a man was elected to the Senate of the first General Assembly, receiving 294 votes against 282 for James M. Nimerick, Democrat.
