About this book
Evelyn Lilian Hazeldine Carrington Martinengo-Cesaresco wrote The Place of Animals in Human Thought. The text says the kinship of wolf and dog was recognised. The Lord of Creation is quoted as saying to Zarathustra that the dog was made with keen scent and sharp teeth, faithful to men, as a protector to the folds. The text says that to attack the dog was like an attack on the police.
A story in the text says the Branch king bade the doe be off to the block with harsh words, and then the little doe went piteously to the Banyan king as a last hope. A story in the text says the cook was astonished to see King Banyan with his head on the block. A passage says the early Iranian had no temple, no altar, and went up into a high place and offered his prayer.
