About this book

The Prince of the Pin Elves is a book by Charles Lee Sleight. In the chapter headed THE TABLES TURNED, Harry tells Wamby not to get excited and says there must be some way for them to get out. Harry asks whether they could induce the soldiers to get ropes and draw them out. Wamby replies that it is not possible, since they can't communicate with the soldiers unless the trap-door is opened.

Harry places one knee on the King's body and draws forth the royal hat-pin, sticking it in his own coat. Harry steps forward holding up the royal hat-pin, and the soldiers stop, look in bewilderment at the crown on his head, and bow low to the floor. Smithkin forces his way to the commander of the Gnomes, who is standing on the lower step of the dais.
