About this book
The Right Time carries a note saying that the trouble with prophets is that if they're accurate the news won't do you any good and if they aren't accurate they're no good, unless they're more than just prophets. Pheola says that she and Billy Joe are gettin' married; Maragon tells her she can't predict the right time and is a fake, and Pheola protests that she ain't a fake.
When Maragon points out that Lefty used his right arm and can't move it, Lefty answers that he can now and that Pheola told Maragon she was a healer. Pheola works her sense of perception around inside the narrator's heart, based on what she had learned from the model, and tells him that his valves feel just like the model and his arteries are clear and good. A speaker reminds Maragon that Evaleen can't find that he is going to die, and Pheola goes to his side, pulls the blanket down and, with help from the nurse, draws his gown down from over his hairy chest.
