About this book
The Rover Boys in the Land of Luck, with the subtitle Or, Stirring Adventures in the Oil Fields, is a book by Edward Stratemeyer. The introduction says that the book is a complete story in itself, though it forms the fifth volume in a line issued under one general title. In one scene, a mass of wreckage consisting of a small tree and a quantity of newly cut timber is caught among the jagged rocks above the Bend, and a man and a boy are struggling wildly to save themselves from drowning.
Dick Rover tells of getting someone back to the trenches, and Andy breaks in to ask whether that is how he won the medal. Jack's father says that two wells are going to cost about seventy thousand dollars. Dick Rover is on hand daily, consulting with Ogilvie and his assistants to make sure that everything is going right.
