The Stars We Steal

Young adult science fiction romance “The Stars We Steal” by Alexa Donne incorporates aspects of “The Bachelor” with a “hate to love” cliché. The protagonist of the tale is eighteen-year-old Princess Leonie “Leo” Kolburg, the heir to a dilapidated European spacecraft. She has to pick an acceptable bachelor during the elite dating competition known as “Valg Season” to keep her family from going bankrupt.

Her ambitions are derailed, though, when Elliot—her first love—returns as the captain of a prosperous whiskey ship. Leo falls in love for the first time in a game of love, deception, and regrets from the past as she makes her way through the sparkling balls of Valg Season.
