About this book
The Three Additions to Daniel, a Study is by William Heaford Daubney. The preface says the three apocryphal portions of Daniel considered in this book have often been hardly judged. The preface says the writer hopes the three portions are worthy of more serious attention than they have frequently received.
The study calls a set of wood-engravings by MacWhirter and others, one illustration to each verse, not very satisfactory, and says it was published in a small book under the title of the Song of the Three Children illustrated (London, 1887). Under the heading Liturgical Use, the study says there is, strange to say, no record of the Song's employment in this way amongst the Jews. The study says that all, except the three martyrs, were afraid of Nebuchadnezzar.
