The Whole Armour of God

The Whole Armour of God is a work by John Henry Jowett. The text says the apostle most urgently warns these young disciples, and warns them of the extraordinary subtlety of the warfare, of the wiles of the devil, of the stratagems of these mysterious powers, of their traps and devices. The text says that, first of all, these invisible antagonists work immediately upon the soul, and that spirit can work upon spirit; mind can lay pressure upon mind.

A speaker describes seeing the plain on which Corinth found her shelter, and beyond it the narrow water-way, which gave her such intimate relations with the commerce of the Mediterranean. A speaker recalls standing on this elevated eminence and trying to realize the conditions in which this little company of Christian recruits had to live the consecrated life. The text quotes the words 'We are more than conquerors through Christ that loved us' and calls it conquest through the energy of an imparted love.
