About this book
Tillicums of the Trail is a book by George Charles Fraser Pringle. The title page describes the book as Klondike yarns told to Canadian soldiers overseas by a sourdough padre. The contents list chapter titles such as Down the Yukon on a Scow, A Klondike Christmas Dinner and Some Klondike Weddings, among others.
The narrator is to go with a dog-driver or musher named Stewart. The Fan-tail Trail, the text says, runs over wind-swept summits seventy-five miles to Atlin on Atlin Lake. The text says the outstanding memory of it all is that of the mud. The text mentions a gold locket with a wisp of brown hair in it, and a man says, "She left me this when she died."
