About this book
True Version of the Philippine Revolution is by Don Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy, who signs himself President of the Philippine Republic at Tarlak on 23 September 1899. He addresses it to all civilized nations and especially to the great North American republic, and says he wants them to know the facts and be able to judge the issue.
The text names the Spanish commanders Blanco, Polavieja and Primo de Rivera, and says he set up his headquarters and a republican government at Biak-na-bato in May 1897. It gives the principal conditions of the treaty of Biak-na-bato, signed on 14 December 1897, with Pedro Alejandro Paterno as mediator. Other passages mention Admiral Dewey, General Anderson's arrival on 4 July, and the American consuls Pratt in Singapore and Wildman in Hongkong.
