Yankee Stranger

Elswyth Thane’s second novel in the Williamsburg series is titled “Yankee Stranger.” It is based in Williamsburg, Virginia in the 1860s and centers on the characters’ descendants from Dawn’s Early Light, the first book in the series. Red-haired Eden Day falls in love with a Yankee visitor during tense times. The turbulent years between Fort Sumter and Appomattox are depicted in the story, which moves from Williamsburg to Richmond and Washington.
