Então passava meus dias

Houve tempo, em que este mundo

Julgava sómente ser

Esse espaço, que meus olhos

Podiam só abranger.

 

E o tempo destruidor,

Em troca d'essas venturas

E das minhas illusões,

Deu-me só mil amarguras.
