He along with his team is widely known for the development of a simple, quick, point-of-care test for detecting excess bilirubin in patients. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Indian Academy of Sciences and recipient of the Young Career Award in Nano Science and Technology in 2013 and the Materials Research Society of India Medal – 2008.
