Grover co-founded BharatPe, a payments company built for Indian shopkeepers, and became widely known as a blunt judge on the first season of Shark Tank India. In early 2022 an audio clip attributed to him abusing a bank employee circulated, the board commissioned a governance review into the affairs of the founders, and he left the company; BharatPe later sued him and his family over alleged misappropriation, which he denies, and the matter has run through the Indian courts since. Doglapan, a word for double standards, is his own telling of all of it. He trained at IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad and worked in banking beforehand.
