Augustus Granville, more fully Augustus Bozzi Granville, was a physician and medical writer whose long career crossed several countries and major changes in nineteenth-century medicine. Autobiography of A. B. Granville, M.D., F. R. S, Vol. 2 continues his account of eighty-eight years of life and practice. The book's full bibliographic title emphasizes work in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, the West Indies, Russia, Germany, France, and England, reflecting the unusual geographical range of his career. Henry S. King published the two-volume autobiography in 1874, with Granville's daughter Paulina B. Granville serving as editor. Medical-history records also associate him with obstetrics, medical electricity, travel, and investigations of Egyptian mummies.
