Space Station Down, co-written with physicist and policy specialist Doug Beason, applies that technical background to a contained orbital thriller. When a wealthy visitor and an extremist cosmonaut seize the International Space Station, astronaut Kimberly Hadid-Robinson becomes the surviving obstacle to a plan to drive the station into New York City. Tor released this collaboration in 2020. The premise turns familiar station systems, docking procedures, orbital speed, and isolation into sources of suspense rather than decorative jargon. Space Station Down stands outside Bova's Grand Tour sequence, but it shares his broader concern with the political uses of space technology. Beason's national-security experience complements Bova's editorial and scientific career in shaping the collaboration.
