Benoît Clerc is a French composer and musician who writes for television, advertising and cinema and set up the production company Tivoli Songs in 2018, after more than fifteen years working in French popular song. He has written several volumes of Éditions EPA's La Totale series, covering Queen, David Bowie, Metallica, ABBA, Madonna, Beyoncé and Prince. Prince: All the Songs is the English edition of his Prince, la totale: les 684 chansons expliquées, that is, the 684 songs explained. Running past 600 illustrated pages, it moves chronologically through the albums, EPs and B-sides, giving for each track the origin of the words and music, the course of the recording session, and the musicians and producers involved.
