Brianna Lee McKenzie
Brianna Lee McKenzie draws historical love stories from family storytelling and the landscapes of Texas. Enchanted Heart follows Marty Hirsch, who emigrates from Germany as a child and later tries to build a life in nineteenth-century Texas after bereavement and upheaval. The novel connects New Braunfels, Fort Concho, and the San Saba River to a romance between Marty and wagon-train guide Aiden Kincaid McAllister. A 2012 second edition was issued by FIBPUB.COM LLC as a 306-page historical-romance paperback. McKenzie grew up hearing her grandmother Ruby’s accounts of an adventurous life, an experience that encouraged her to imagine characters and scenes from an early age. Frequent childhood moves made invented companions especially important to her. After publisher rejections, encouragement from relatives and friends helped her continue. Enchanted Heart and Catch a Shooting Star form a small but identifiable bibliography of self-published romance under her name.
