Carrie Ryan writes speculative fiction for teen and general audiences. The Dead-Tossed Waves is the second novel in the Forest of Hands and Teeth trilogy, following the original novel and preceding The Dark and Hollow Places. Hare Moon is a shorter work set in the same post-apocalyptic world and is grouped with the sequence by Penguin Random House. Together, the titles expand a setting defined by isolated communities, dangerous boundaries, and the consequences of earlier choices.
