Carroll John H.

Carroll John H. appears in bibliographic records as fantasy novelist John H. Carroll, whose work spans epic fantasy, comic speculative fiction, and stories for younger readers. Rojuun is the opening novel in the Willden Trilogy, followed by Anilyia and Kethril. Set in the expansive world of Ryallon, it brings the experienced traveler Tathan back to the valley he left as a teenager. His return connects him with Liselle, who longs to see life beyond her isolated home, and with the mysterious Vevin. Their journey moves through regions inhabited by magical beings and societies unfamiliar to the young travelers. Carroll published Rojuun in 2010, beginning an independent-fiction body of work that later included the Dralin Trilogy, the Crazed books, and the Wyvern series. The novel establishes the Willden sequence through exploration and companionship, contrasting Tathan's difficult knowledge of the wider world with Liselle's curiosity and Vevin's uncertain nature as the group leaves the security of the valley.
