Cerrie Burnell

Cerrie Burnell works across children’s writing, acting, broadcasting, and advocacy, making room for characters too rarely placed at the front of an adventure. Wilder than Midnight brings together Saffy, who is tired of obeying the forest’s rules, Aurelia, who longs to leave a locked tower, and Wild Rose, who was raised by wolves. Their paths converge in Silverthorne, where fairy-tale patterns are reshaped around friendship, bodily difference, and self-determination. Puffin released the novel during 2022 as the opening Wilder Than Midnight volume. Burnell’s books also include the Harper series and I Am Not a Label. Her broadcasting career included CBeebies, and the Open University awarded her an honorary degree for services to media.
