Danah Boyd
Danah Boyd is a researcher whose work examines technology, society, and the ways young people use networked media. It’s Complicated draws on more than a decade of fieldwork and interviews with American teenagers to question familiar claims about social media, privacy, identity, safety, and online participation. Yale University Press issued the work as It’s Complicated: The Social Lives of Networked Teens. Boyd founded the research institute Data & Society and has held research and academic roles at Microsoft Research, New York University, Harvard's Berkman Center, and Cornell University. Her writing connects close observation of digital life with broader questions about power, inequality, and public understanding.
