Green to Gold, written with Andrew Winston, argues that environmental strategy is a competitive advantage rather than a cost, and makes the case through company examples instead of through principle. Esty teaches environmental law and policy at Yale, ran Connecticut's environment department and worked at the federal environmental agency, so he has sat on both sides of the table as regulator and as adviser. The book is written for executives and is deliberately unsentimental about why any of them would act.
