George Goodchild
George Goodchild (1888-1969) was an English writer of popular fiction, prolific across crime, thriller, and adventure stories through the early and middle twentieth century. He is best remembered for his detective character Inspector McLean, who ran through dozens of novels and was adapted for stage and radio. A fast and productive storyteller, he also wrote under pseudonyms such as Alan Dare and Jesse Templeton, turning out a large body of light adventure and romance for the commercial market of his day.
