How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth is a manual on reading by genre: what to do differently with a psalm, a parable, a law code, a letter and an apocalypse, and where the usual shortcuts go wrong. Fee wrote it with Douglas Stuart, who teaches Old Testament at Gordon-Conwell, and it first appeared in 1981; a fourth edition is in print and its sales run into seven figures. Fee took the New Testament side. He was an ordained Assemblies of God minister as well as a textual critic, taught at Wheaton and Gordon-Conwell before sixteen years at Regent College in Vancouver, and wrote the standard commentary on First Corinthians along with a long study of Paul on the Spirit. He lived from 1934 to 2022.
