Katharine Newlin Burt
Katharine Newlin Burt (1882–1977) was an American novelist and film scenarist whose publishing career ran for more than sixty years. She married the writer Maxwell Struthers Burt in 1912, and the couple settled in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, at the Bar BC near Moose, one of the region's earliest dude ranches. That country supplied the setting for much of her fiction, including Hidden Creek, The Red Lady, and Snow-Blind. At least seven of her books were adapted for the screen, most of them during the silent era.
