Max Lucado wrote it in 1993, early in a run that has since passed a hundred titles and made him the best-selling inspirational writer in America. He preaches at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, and has done since 1988, which is the credential behind the writing: he is a pastor first and the books come out of the pulpit. The publishing operation around them is a large commercial business in its own right.
