Author: Orson Scott Card

Card wrote Ender's Game as a short story in 1977 and expanded it into a novel that took both the Hugo and the Nebula, then repeated that with the sequel, which nobody else has done. The Ender books concern a child trained through simulated war into wiping out an entire species without knowing it, and what forgiveness could possibly mean afterwards. He is a practising Latter-day Saint and sat on the board of the National Organization for Marriage, campaigning against same-sex marriage in terms that produced boycotts of the 2013 film. He has since called the argument moot. Xenocide continues the sequence.
