Pauline Wengeroff

Pauline Wengeroff was a Jewish memoirist whose recollections preserve a woman’s view of family, faith, and cultural change in nineteenth-century Russia. Born in 1833, she wrote in German and organized her life story as both personal remembrance and social history.
