Wendy Walker
1967
Walker practised family law and worked in investment banking before writing thrillers, and the recurring subject is memory nobody can trust. All Is Not Forgotten gives the survivor of a violent attack a drug that erases her recollection of it, then makes the case that she has to get it back. Don't Look for Me opens with a mother who appears to have walked out on her family deliberately. She has represented children in family court, and the legal and clinical machinery in the books is accurate in a way that separates them from most of the shelf around them.
