James De Mille

James De Mille (1833-1880) was a Canadian novelist and professor of classics and history at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Prolific and popular in his day, he wrote adventure serials, boys' fiction, and satire, though he is best remembered for this fantasy, published only after he died.
