About this book
Behind the News: Voices from Goa's Press is a book written collaboratively between August 2003 and October 2003 through Goajourno, a cyber network of journalists and former journalists who have worked in Goa. In one chapter, the narrator phones Kakodkar and says the lead story for the paper tomorrow is finished and that it looks like Congress will win with an overwhelming majority. A writer in the book says Herald was the “journalism school” where the elementary tricks of the trade were learnt.
One piece says that, apart from football, athletics, swimming and taekwondo, which have brought a lot of honours to the state in the past few years, there is little to shout about in the other disciplines.
