About this book

Columbus and Other Heroes of American Discovery is a work by N. D'Anvers. The text names Thorstein, another son of Eric, who set out for Vinland in 1005 but failed to find it. The text finds Gudrid, as the wife of a sturdy Icelander named Karlsefne, forming part of the largest expedition yet sent out from Greenland to Vinland.

The text describes Balboa venturing forth from his cask and, falling on his knees before the captain, Enciso by name, entreating him to protect him and let him share in the expedition. The text says men of Connecticut, under Captain John Mason, shortly sallied forth once more against the common foe, their destination this time being the chief stronghold of the Pequods.
