About this book

Crowd-Horror is by Robert E. Howard and follows Slade Costigan, a boxer with a slugger's punch. The narrator first speaks to Slade Costigan in his dressing room, hurrying there after his two round knock-out of Battling Monaghan.

The narrator tells Slade that if he will throw in with him and try to learn and apply what he teaches, he will make him a champion. The narrator comes to manage Slade Costigan and has him study the tactics of Dempsey, McGovern, Ketchel and Tom Sharkey. The narrator says Slade Costigan was invincible with Gloria's war-cry of love quavering through the roar of fans. Costigan takes a blow square on the temple and goes down on his face, and the referee springs forward and begins to count.
