About this book
Discourses of Brigham Young presents material selected and arranged by John A. Widtsoe. The preface identifies Brigham Young as the second President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the first Governor of Utah. A discourse insists that religion must accompany the speaker from one Monday morning to the next, throughout the year, to answer his needs.
The teaching on eternity and eternal exaltation declares those principles useless unless brought within human capacities and practiced in life. The speaker describes instructing his brethren as a duty if he understands his branch of business better than they do. The discussion of education describes the results of education and traditions as interwoven with people's feelings. A teaching on learning says that people can learn from every person, transaction and circumstance around them, in prosperity or adversity.
